Where do you go when you want to savor beautiful waterfront sunsets and your traveling companion wants a mountain weekend? Well, you can have both at Ehrhardt’s Waterfront Resort in the Lake Region of the Poconos.

Because Ehrhardt’s is located right on beautiful Lake Wallenpaupack, summer visitors there can plan to enjoy water sports including fishing, swimming and canoeing.  Paddleboats and rowboats are also available. Or bring your own boat and park it in Ehrhardt’s free boat slip for guests. Surrounded by mountains and overlooking the lake, there are plenty of outdoor activities to entertain everyone.

Ehrhardt’s offers a variety of lakeview accommodations year-round, including reasonably priced motel rooms, cottages, family units and an apartment. All rooms include a private bath, air conditioning, small refrigerator, microwave, color cable television, phones and daily maid service. All accommodations are nonsmoking and some include a spectacular view of the lake.

The resort also has a unique lakefront restaurant and an elegant banquet center. Continental breakfast is included daily in the spring, summer and fall. The restaurant’s menu has a full range of delicious sandwiches and entrees, from down-home cooking of Yankee pot roast to seafood, “Lil’ Italy on the Lake” and “Land Lovers,” which includes nice cuts of steak, pork tenderloin, filet mignon and ribs. Reasonable prices and a variety of menu items make it possible to please everyone in the family. The restaurant also offers a grand salad bar. Lakeview dining is available, both indoors and outside, weather permitting.

Guests are given a discount coupon for the Lakeview Restaurant and can take advantage of a complimentary cookout on Wednesdays, July through Labor Day.

The resort has been owned and operated by the Ehrhardt family since 1943. The family is well known around the region for offering warm hospitality, great entertainment and fabulous food. They put much effort into satisfying their customer’s needs by arranging bus trips, planning entertainment events and hosting weddings, banquets and family reunions. The family promises that if you come to visit, they will take care of the rest — delicious food, great atmosphere, outstanding entertainment and excellent service. “Our promise to you is, the only thing we overlook is the water.”

Ehrhardt’s is located on Route 507 in Hawley, Pa. It is 2 ½ hours from New York City and Philadelphia. Take I-84 to exit #26, Route 390 north, to Route 507 north. Drive ½ mile to Ehrhardt’s, on the left. Note that because it does not have an exact address, it may be hard to find using Internet maps. The staff suggests using “intersection” of Route 507 and Route 6. The resort is 1 mile south of Route 6 on Route 507.  If all else fails, give them a call and they will be more than happy to guide you in.
